BOGOF presents Tell-A-Vision, May 5 2012 @ Hilton

The next B.O.G.O.F. ™ (Being Only Great of Finesse) event themed  ‘TELL A VISION’ is scheduled for May 5th 2012 at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi from 3pm to 7pm. The Charges for the B.O.G.O.F. event will be 300 Kenya Shillings.

Entertainment will be by a host of talented poets, rappers, live bands, sketch artistes and photographers. Anto Neosoul will  emcee for the event

The acts scheduled to perform are; Macharia Maina, Mdeizi, Ka-Hawa and Mbulaa, for the live band segment. Female rapper  Xtatic  will represent the hip hop element at the event.

The poets to grace the event include: Raya Wambui, and Asali.

Also in attendance will be Sketch artistes, Siege, Nduta, Denet, Melpractise and Ramsey, and photographers, Buyu and Rowena.

The story is retold through the eyes of a boy and his dog. Following a devastating volcanic eruption in August 2000, the Noyama’s are forced to evacuate from their island home in Miyakejima. Separated from each other and their beloved Rock and struggling to adapt to life as evacuees in Tokyo, they grapple with anxiety and despair on a daily basis. But, they never give up hope of being reunited with Rock and moving back to their home in Miyakejima.

3rd Annual Korogocho Cultural Festival, Apr 29 2012 @ Ngunyumu Primary & Grogon Close

Korogocho festival is an annual community cultural event, traditionally held in the month of April by different groups of artists coming together to celebrate different talents and their diversity in Korogocho. The festival is spearheaded by the Hope Raisers (Community based art and sports organizations.
This event seeks to engage key community stakeholders and decision makers on a platform that encourages active participation of young people in a dialogue to understand the importance of arts, sports and other forms of cultural expression in the community development and empowerment.

The core objectives of the festival are therefore to present arts, sports and other forms of cultural expression; as a Tool for Safer Neighbourhoods, a creative dialogue, and an engine of social change, and as a tool for transforming public spaces.

The event shall take place in two strategic venues: the School (Ngunyumu Primary where we shall be launching a community Photo journal Sanaa Zetu and hold a photo exhibition) which is a central hub for nurturing talents and the street (Grogon close to provide international Hospital) where there will be music, cultural performances and urban  sports.
