Date: June 29, 2013
Venue: Railway Museum [Next to Kenya Poly] Time: 4 pm
Tickets: Kshs 1000

This year’s UP Live festival, marking UP Magazine’s 2nd-Year Anniversary, is going to be double the size and double the fun.

Themed “Other Side of the Tracks”, this year’s event takes place in the antiquated train yards of the Railway Museum. The backdrop provides a unique venue for UP’s mixture of art, music, film and great food.

UP Live 2 starts in the afternoon hours from 4 p.m. and features a special ‘Street Faire’, festival-environment involving chic urban vendors, such as Chilimango, Nairobi Vinyl, book swappers and other urban retailers. Co-sponsor, Dormans, will provide grilled favorites and great coffees. This is complemented by ‘street eats’ such as fresh Indian Karoga-style stews and naan. Popcorn, cotton candy and cup cakes will be just as yummy for adults as it will be for Kids.

Performers: The Old Cambrians Band, The Kenyan Boys Choir and the Slum Drummers are going to collaborate with our diverse line-up of headliners including Ayub Ogada, Blinky Bill, Mumala, and Miss Karun and Thee MC Africa (from Camp Mulla).

Absolut Vodka presents this year’s UP Live concert. This partnership includes an artist activation called, Absolut Blank. Selected artists will be on site painting canvases supplied by Absolut Vodka. This begins a three-month program, called Pop-UP Gallery and a competition to crown Nairobi’s leading pop-artist.

Pawa 254 will also be on hand to create a ‘media salon’, complete with chill out spaces and phote exhibitions. Nai ni Who? will be tracking the activities as part of an overall public space and community-building project.
When the sun goes down the jam-packed concert begins. This year’s line-up includes UP’s uniquely-produced mix of traditional and pop-music with late night dance-house DJs capping the evening.

Early birds will get a break on the entrance price of 700/= if paying in advance for tickets available at all Dormans, or at the gate before 7 p.m. After 7 p.m. tickets are 1,000/=.

Parking is free. Lot’s of security. Tenting and oil-can fires will provide warmth and coverage no matter what the weather.

SYNOPSIS
A chance meeting bring Rick and Jane together, and at first their conversation at Rick’s house seems innocent. Gradually the clues to the truth assemble: it is not Rick’s house at all engineered their meeting; he knows all about Jane’s marriage to the violent, unsavoury Michael – and he wants Michael dead, for reasons of his own. surprisingly, Jane is happy to collude with Rick in this plan, but then she isn’t all originally appears to either .By degrees, the two conspirators reveal more and more of their true identities and the crimes and violence that have linked them in the past. The encounter becomes combative; each in turn handcuffed and threatened, each alternates between being predator and prey…Twist after twist leads KILLING TIME, this clever and challenging thriller for a cast of two to a gripping conclusion.
