The year is over and there’s a very positive vibe in the air that suggests party time is here. There is no time like the present, and with the first proper event of the Festive Season already done and dusted, the fantastic folk at Kenya Nights are ready to pump up the volume once again. They would firstly like to say a personal huge thank you to all that made it for the 4th Anniversary party, a truly epic celebration. As celebrations go, every year has it’s good ones and it’s not so good ones, but at the end of it all, each year must have its ultimate celebration.

On the day we all reflect on the year gone by and anticipate the year to come, there will be a very special event sending vibrations down the Kenyan coastline, a first of its kind.

Kenya Nights is teaming up with the funky folk down at Distant Relatives Eco-Lodge & Backpackers in Kilifi to put together an intimate gathering of party people for the final countdown of 2013. As the first Kenya nights NYE party, expect it to be a very groovy and laid back kind of gig, with quality tunes, in a top quality setting, amongst all the beautiful faces that have come to know and love throughout 2013. Kenya Nights NYE 2014 is here!

There is a no nonsense Music Policy, and the music is answer this time round, with performances from some of Kenya’s top Electronic DJs dropping the top tracks from their sets this year and years gone by. Strictly electronic. An endless assortment of Techno, Minimal, Tribal, Indie, Tech House, and Electro will be pumping through the soundsystem to your heart’s content as those feet stomp all night on the lush sand, in that cooling sea breeze.

‘STRATA’ SYNOPSIS

When a criminal is gunned down, do we ever stop to ask ourselves how his life must have been?
When ZEAL is gunned down under mysterious circumstances, JAZZ, his fiancée of Asian descent is determined to get justice.
Her path crosses KUSH, the mixed race policeman on the case and a man who has always had an interest in her. He has concluded that Zeal was a criminal, killed in an inter gang turf war.
Then two women, BUNDE, a patient from a high cost sanatorium and SILK, a veiled mystery turn up at his funeral without explanation or apology.
Jazz stumbles on SHEBE, who connects some of the dots in Zeal’s life. Shebe was arguably Zeal’s closest friend and confidant.
Jazz digs deeper and finally discovers that Zeal was leading a far from normal double life, he was indeed a criminal.
Then Jazz finds herself the target of the same people who had Zeal killed. To keep alive Jazz has to expose these killers and bring them to justice . . . a task that will bring in contact with the criminal underworld and put her life on the line.


“Strata” is a multi racial movie that gives us insight into the rise in crime in Kenya today and the innovative and intriguing methods that desperate criminals use to avoid detection. “Strata” also gives us a glimpse into the cover-up tactics that law enforcers use to lead us down the wrong path.

“Strata” is story of crime and passion with wheels within wheels . . . that reveals the layers of our lives stemming from what may seem to the untrained eye as a simple gunning down of another notorious criminal on the streets of Nairobi.
