Exploring Sudanese and Egyptian cultural sounds in a contemporary context, the Brooklyn based band are:
Alsarah – Lead Vocals
Nahid Abunama – Elgadi – Vocals
Brandon Terzic – Oud
Mauwena Kodjovi – Bass Guitar
Rami El Aasser – Percussion
In 2013, backed by Afro Simba (Kenya), Alsarah performed at Blankets & Wine and at Tree House, to a full house.
In 2014, Alsarah performed with the Nile Project at Kuona Trust and she also performed at the Safaricom Jazz Festival.
Curtain raisers are Afro Simba Band and Yellow Light Machine
This is the first time that Alsarah & the Nubatones will perform in Kenya.

This show will feature an extraordinary range of works including oil on canvas paintings, timber cut outs and mixed media assemblages. Many of the works carry a political message but fans of Ngugi’s animal series will not be disappointed.
