Blankets & Wine is bringing Grammy-winning British singer, songwriter, producer and actress Estelle to perform in Nairobi as the headlining act at the festival’s July 10th edition. She’s dabbled in various genres including R&B, soul, reggae, grime and hip hop to produce global hits including “American Boy”, “Come on Over” and “Conqueror”.

Estelle has collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, John Legend, will.i.am, David Guetta among others and appeared on hit TV series, Empire as well as voiced the cartoon character, Garnet in the animated series, Steven Universe.

Rounding out the musical performances are Blankets & Wine Founder and fierce femcee, Muthoni the Drummer Queen, the sultry Sage and soulful Jarel.

The July edition makes good on the promise of high-quality quarterly showcases by B&W—via new operating entity,GoodTimes Africa—following the successful Aloe Blacc Show in April with American soul sensation, Aloe Blacc.

Also happening at the festival are fashion pop-up stores by Embody Fashion, Bongosawa, Republi.ke, Adele Dejak and Sandstorm. Live sketches by Naddya, flower crowns by Maua Jua as well as the highly popular Silent Disco.

They’ll be great food—including brunch—by The Good Food Company, Kathy’s Kitchen, Harry’s Crepe’s, Uptown Grill and The Curragh.

The festival shall also be unveiling the B&W wine.

There is a new wave in town, the It’s Big Concert, this follows the announcement that Ali Kiba, one of East Africa’s biggest star will be headlining at the IT’S BIG concert that is set to be the biggest launch to be experienced yet in East Africa. Other artistes headlining the concert include Redsan, Radio & Weasel, STL, Chris Darling, Mike Rua among others.

Ali Kiba recently signed a deal with Sony Music entertainment to become the second major artiste to be signed in Africa after Davido.

Synopsis
Jimmy (Bilal Wanjau) is back from Kamiti prison and has to live at his son’s place – looking to start afresh and mend their relationship. Junior (Kena Muigai) doesn’t really like his father and the fact that the girl Junior’s dating (Patricia played by Mildred Sakina) might have some disturbing connection to his father’s past is a ticking time bomb. All this is set on the backdrop of – by chance (or not) key political assassinations / extra judicial killings connected to Jimmy’s past as a cop. What happens at dusk? What happens before the night unmasks their truths? Where will the guns point?
A thrilling drama written and directed by Kigondu Martin.
