JAZZ ATTITUDE is Nairobi’s newest Premier Jazz Series that features stellar performances by incredible Kenyan Live acts in a Jazz themed setting suitable for the whole family.In this Special Edition “2.5” we are proud to present our first International act, Legendary Kora innovator and Virtuoso SEKOU “KORA” KOUYATE. The Guinean Kora master has been dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Kora by several elite music magazines and reviewers. He’s won several awards for his Albums including the Gold Medal at the Global music awards. He is also part of the renowned West African band “Ba Cissoko” that has toured the world extensively.
“Sekou ěs sound, mode of playing and the invention of the electric kora, has inspired a whole new generation of kora players. Today, Sekou Kouyate is considered among the world’s finest kora players.”
His band is Joined by three Incredible Kenyan bands. The dynamic and afro fused Jazz sounds of Shamsi Music, the ever green modern pop fusion of Tetu Shani and a debut performance by one of the most Viby sounds in Nairobi today, Yellow Light Machine.
These amazing musicians will take over the band stand from 3pm till 9pm in what will surely be a thrilling Sunday event.

The Kenya Art Fair is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated Visual art events in East Africa. Now in its fourth year, the fair continues to build on its previous success to present a dynamic selection of galleries, artist collectives, established artists and art organizations from within the region. Alongside the curated stands will be, the Art Talks.As a long standing special feature of the Fair, the talks will this year, feature daily panel discussions by curators, writers, artist, and art enthusiasts on matters of contemporary art. The annual Wasanii exhibition is set to showcases new and vibrant artwork including over 200 paintings, original prints, photographs and sculptures by both established and emerging artists from within the East African Region.
This year see’s the fourth edition of the Kenya Art Fair since its inception. The 2017 Kenya Art Fair has set out to support the role of art spaces in developing the careers of artists as well as promoting the growth of the visual art sector.
The theme for this year’s fair is ‘Cohesion’ following the general elections expected to be held this year.

As Kenyans everywhere recover from an extremely divisive election season, what better way to regain your equilibrium and peace of mind than to come to One Off to enjoy the beautiful landscape oil paintings of Olivia Pendergast? Each image a gorgeous rendition of a different part of Kenya, each work portraying the countryside we all know and love so much.
Frank Whalley in the East African recently commented that Pendergast’s landscapes are ‘beautifully painted’ and have a ‘sensitive fluidity’. Please come and enjoy the jewel like quality of these paintings for yourself.

Oliver Martin Okoth is a free lance commercial artist based in Nairobi and Kisumu who conceptualizes music on canvas. As a conceptual artist he tries to give an illustration on what he perceives the musicians songs are about.In this exhibition he focuses on the legendary Michael Jackson. Okoth has participated in several exhibitions which include:
– Group Show, National Museums of Kenya (supported by Absolute Vodka), Nov -Dec 2012.
– Tupac All eyes on me, Kenya railways art gallery, 2014
– Nobody can stop Reggae, Nairobi National Museum, Feb 2015.
– Hip Hop THE TRIBUTE, Karen Village 2016Okoth also has a keen interest in children and has made coloring books to introduce them early to art. These can be purchased online. As an artist he believes art can change the course of a nation and he is keen on playing his part in this.
