The Fair Play Competition is about original songs by young bands (18-35 years) on the on the theme of anti-corruption, integrity and fighting for social justice.

Bands are invited to submit their anti-corruption music videos online and the best two band(s) will be flown to Busan, South Korea to perform and participate in the International Anti-corruption Conference (IACC) that takes place in a different country every 2 years.

Shamsi Music is an afro-jazz fusion band formed in 2014 by pianist, composer and musical director Paul Mbithi with Samwel ‘Laka’ Waithaka, a veteran saxophonist and Michael Munene, Immanuel Mohol, Kenn ‘Biggie’ Njoroge and George Nyoro. The band’s sound represents the best of Kenyan traditional rhythms and melodies reinterpreted through modern jazz.

Shamsi is Arabic for “Sun” as the group would like to be warmly capturing the heart, mind and soul of their listeners.

Visual satire or not? Michael Soi and Thom Ogonga return with Sex and the City IV. The exhibition is a mirror play of humour and sobriety. Using their art as social commentary, Soi and Ogonga share their fascination with the city’s night life in these pandemic times.

In-person visits welcome to the Alliance Française gallery while maintaining the necessary safety protocols.
