Exhibition Opening: Saturday, September 26 2020
Time: 10am to 4pm
Venue: One Off Contemporary Art Gallery

Until October 18, 2020 (Gallery Open Tuesday through Sunday)

About
One Off Gallery is delighted to host a solo exhibition for Elias Mung’ora. The show comprises vintage Mung’ora acrylic on canvas works; urban life at its most intense, huddles of people populate the surfaces, whispering, conspiring and consoling. Times are tough and Mung’ora paints the front line of economic hardship but also portrays our famous Kenyan resilience and ingenuity.

These people are survivors, brilliantly observed and represented in acrylic on canvas by Mung’ora.

Please note that masks are mandatory around the gallery.

Dates: September 10 – October 9, 2020
Venue: Circle Art Gallery
Time: 10 am – 4 pm

“I want the show to uplift the importance of paying attention to the things around you, valuing your perspective. In a way, this is about ritual. It was really about taking walks every day, collecting things, and making based on a place. I hope it does justice to the time I spent in Lamu letting chance lead the way, being present and mindful. It is considering small things, having faith.” – Agnes Waruguru
