Building on a rich tradition from Kenya’s first air show in Kitale in 1956, through the Caltex Air Shows of the mid 1990’s, to the largest public show in 2002 with more than fifteen thousand spectators; the 2013 Kenya Air Show Festival will be an impressive showcase of achievement by our aviators and aviation industry over the last fifty years.
Soaking up the festival atmosphere, the Air Show promises the anticipated more than twenty thousand spectators a memorable experience, with sensational performances from The Kenyan Air Force, helicopters, skydivers and a raft of private and commercial pilots.
The Air Show Festival Village will include static aircraft and custom car displays, a children’s games area, exhibitions, a food court and fun, entertainment and culture for the whole family For many Kenyans the Air Show is fondly remembered as Kenya’s most exciting spectacle and greatest family outing. This year’s Kenya Air Show Festival promises to be the most spectacular yet.

The Moipei Quartet: Kenya’s Musical Angels celebrating Kenya at 50, Dec. 13 2013 @ Forty Thieves

Mary, Marta and Magdalene and their younger sister Seraphine form the all girl classical music group: ‘The Moipei Quartet’.
Although still teenagers, they have already been singing for over a decade, performing on National and International frontiers.
They play various musical instruments including: Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Flute and Piccolo. Through their music they continue to advocate for social issues including highlighting the plight of girls in the Maasai community and Africa at large.

One Beat 2014: Innovative Music Residency & Cultural Exchange Programme, Open Until Jan. 15 2014 @ 1beatmusic

OneBeat is an innovative music residency and cultural exchange program based in the U.S. It is now inviting adventurous young musicians (ages 19-35) from over 40 countries including Kenya to apply to be take part in their third annual OneBeat program this fall.
OneBeat brings together an extraordinarily diverse group of sonic trailblazers together to create and perform original musical works, while developing ways to use music as a catalyst for social change.
One Beat invites those from all backgrounds to apply: hip hop, traditional, experimental, electronic, jazz, classical, sound and multimedia art, and more.
OneBeat is a FREE program, with Fellows’ travel, housing, and food costs covered.

Kenya is celebrating 50 years of independence and we would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate our rich culture and heritage by taking Kikoy Fashion to the beach.
We will be running a series of Kikoy inspired fashion shows in top 5 star hotels on the Kenyan coast over the period of 12th – 31st December 2013. There will be top local and international emerging and haute couture designers showcasing their exceptional collection and accessories together with high fashion international models from diverse cultures, among them Deliah Ipupa & Gloria Baraza.
Among the designers on board are Mohamed Bana, Galina Tatarinova ( A russian designer who does amazing wedding wedding outfits with african print), Mayeye Marcotte Designs, La Mar Jewelry design ( Winner Emerging Designer 2013), Zanta Beads (An emerging talented jewelry designer) and Sumi Kittony (An emerging designer)
The inaugural show will be at Mombasa Continental Resort on 14th December starting 6pm. We will be working hand in hand with Bombolulu Cutural Centre, who will entertain the guests with cultural dances and art of the proceeds will go to them.
