Edition One is Ogonga Thom’s first prints only exhibition in four years and is a result of 6 months experiments of 100% fully handmade limited edition wood cut prints.
In the selection of prints on show, Ogonga is “exploring conventional wood cut print making with emphasis on the technical process while playfully working on studies of the female form and at times creating prints inspired by painting processes” to create ‘prints that look like paintings.’
Ogonga has exhibited widely and featured in numerous public projects both locally & abroad and was awarded the winner of 2nd Place, Best in Painting during the Elsyee Treaty Juried Competition & Exhibition in 2006.

The African Children’s Dance Company will hold their debut performance on December 9, 2012 at 3pm at the Louis Leakey Auditorium, located at the National Museum. They will be joined in performing Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern Dance by the Nairobi Jazz Dance Company, the Wee Ones Dancers, and will share the stage with the musical groups Almasi Acappella, Central Jazz, and the Miale Band. The Kenya Conservatoire of music warmly invites you to this year’s musical: Seventeen.
The creative team is led by well known Kenyan composer and performer Mrs. Nancy Day, who has written the book and arranged most of the music. You will also recognize some of the contributors to this project, who are also renowned performers in Nairobi such as Charles Ouda and Mkamzee Mwatela.
The musical tells of a high school bully who…… come and sees the rest!!! Let’s just say that “things are not always as they seem.’’ The musical styles are so varied, that everyone will find something close to their heart. There is Tango and Taarab, Ragga and “R & B,” Jazz, Ballads, Funk – all accompanied by the Conservatoire Orchestra. With all these musical genres, you are sure to be tapping your feet to the rhythm and indulging your eyes in the absolutely energetic dancing.
Advance tickets will be available from Monday 10th December and there will be a seating map of the venue available for one to pick there preferred seat.
