Media Development in Africa [MEDEVA] in conjunction with the GoDown Arts Centre, continues the search for a TV presenter to take up the fame and command the Kenyan youth to their TV screens.

2 Time Kisima Award winner brings his modern Benga stylings to one of Nairobi’s most respected live music venues. The show is scheduled to start at 8pm and will feature songs from “Suluwe” and “Benganology” as well as new material from the upcoming album.

This will be the first show of an entire concert series in support of The Mabawa project an initiative that seeks to mobilize donations of books and other learning materials for distribution to needy school kids.

Entrance to The show is free.

This is concert is supported by Akiba Uhaki Foundation, Sippers Pub and Goode Communication.

Concert: Ricky na Marafiki, Aug 20 2011 @ Dass

Ricky na Marafiki band will perform on the 20th of august @ DASS restaurant,  playing tunes from their album TUCHEZE. The album comprises of different genres of Afro jazz tunes. While you are at it also enjoy some Anjera and Ethiopian coffee at an affordable price. Doors open at 9pm if you come five guys one of you gets a free ticket. Concert: Spotlight on Kenyan Music, Aug 26 2011 @ Alliance

Spotlight 2011 draws attention to the lesser known musical traditions of Northern Kenyan communities under the programme ‘Vital Voices and Culture’: Increasing People Participation in Good Governance and Development’ – Arts and Cultural Synergies for the Empowerment of Communities, a programme being implemented by the Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs with funding from the European Union.

This month’s concert will feature the music of the El Molo, Konso artists from Moyale, Rendille/Burji artist Abdi Jero and special guest artist Ayub Ogada.
