As part of the cultural program, the Embassy of Spain is pleased to invite you to a Country Fair (Feria de las Naciones) which will take place on Sunday 19th April 2015 from 10am to 6pm at the National Museums of Kenya (NMK), Nairobi.
During the Fair, different Embassies will showcase their cultural, culinary, artistic aspects, etc. The Embassy of Spain in collaboration with the Spanish Speaking Association (SSA) and the NGO “Más Por Ellos” will have a tent with the theme “April Fair” where you can taste typical Spanish food. There will also be children’s activities and the Spanish sevillana shows.
All proceeds will go to various humanitarian projects.

Buni Media, creators of the ‘XYZ Show’, presents a cartoon exhibition on the burning issues of freedom of expression and security. 27 professional cartoonists from 9 countries illustrate the burning question: Freedom & Security: Can we have both?The struggle against terrorism has highlighted the threats to freedom of expression. On the one hand, media practitioners risk violence from those who may take offense to articulation of some opinions. On the other hand, authorities claim that a restriction of rights is necessary to maintain societal security. In protecting one, there is always the risk of undermining the other.

Concept
This documentary work represents an inquiry into the religious, cultural and financial dynamics of non-traditional churches located in the periphery of Seoul.
At the same time, it explores the diversity of architectural designs that range from the traditional hanok style house-churches to the so-called mega churches that accommodate thousands of parishioners.
In the process, the work questions the functions that churches perform in contemporary South Korean society.About the artist
Noah Miller is a photographer born in the United States and raised in Germany. He has been pursuing photography seriously for the last 15 years and studied the medium at the International Center of Photography (New York City), the former London College of Printing, the Torpedo Factory (Washington, DC) and Eyes in Progress (Paris). In 2004, he was a winner in the ABB international photo competition.His current work has shifted towards exploring the interplay of people and their constructed environments. While living in Nairobi, he would like to explore the ethnography of interracial families as his next long-term project.
