Rug Sale

Antique Oriental Rug Exhibition & Sale, Sept. 17 2016 @ BagFace Grounds

Rug Sale
Date: September 17, 2016
Venue: BagFace Grounds
Time: 10 am – 5 pm

About
This is a rare opportunity to view & buy rugs from my personal collection of over 400 old and antique hand-woven oriental pieces. They have been individually sourced from all over the world, including Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, The Caucasus and Turkmenistan. Many are tribal, while others are more sophisticated ‘city’ works. This is the largest and best collection of such rugs in the country, and because of their number they can only be displayed all together every few months. They will be laid out in BagFace’s extensive grounds. Drinks and snacks will be offered (free of charge) as viewing so many pieces can be aesthetically overwhelming! All the rugs are of course for sale, and can be previewed on www.bagface.co.uk. There you will also see details and prices.

I am always searching for interesting pieces but beautiful old rugs are becoming ever-harder to find at reasonable prices. The supply is extremely finite, and the growing demand will inevitably lead to future price rises: such antique pieces make fantastic and life-enriching investments, unlike the modern, somewhat characterless pieces that are widely available in many malls and shops.

This makes a fun and instructive day out, and one that will hopefully lead to your acquiring a piece of woven history.

About
In 2009, Paragasha was founded by Anto Neosoul as a platform to nurture up and coming artistes.

Although the dream was short-lived in 2011, the fire never died and most recently, the need to offer young visionaries and creators from all spheres of art including music, film, fashion, I.T and entertainment has been more than ever.

With the support of Safaricom through provision of space at Michael Joseph Centre, the dream is once again a reality. Beginning 26th March 2016 and every month thereafter, Paragasha will curate a space that allows networking of young brilliant minds with film, art, music, I.T and fashion enthusiasts.

Why should our young brilliant minds wait to have a few hit songs or mainstream support to get a chance to perform professionally? The time is now. It is time to Paragasha. It is time to just be; without inhibitions, without fear.

Previous Paragasha alumni include: Dela, Rabbit, Winyo, Size 8, Sara Mitaru, Elani, Patricia Kihoro and many more artistes who are now household names.
