The Goethe-Institut Nairobi has collaborated with One Fine Day Films and Ginger Ink Films to bring you a one of a kind opportunity.
Facilitated by David Baboulene, a published author of six books including; The Story Book (2010) and the upcoming Primary Colours of Story (2019), scriptwriter, professional story consultant and a Ph.D. scholar of story theory whose research is changing the way contemporary media industries create and evaluate stories.
About
What is a story? Why do stories exist? How do stories work?
Using clips and examples from classics such as Breaking Bad and Back to the Future, David Baboulene explains the key elements that give stories their power and which give you a toolkit for managing that power. Character growth, moral argument, knowledge gaps and subtext, the story world, conflict and key questions are all made plain, followed by an opportunity for Q&A with the story consultantThe sessions will be held in 4 parts as described below:
THE PRIMARY COLOURS OF STORY
Session 1 – The mind and stories

How story evolved from language and the functions of mind.
How the mind works with narrative, both in real-life experiences and in story.

Opportunity: Model Casting Call: Few Next Face Africa 2018, Jul. 28 2018 @ Fairmont, the Norfolk

Few Model Management the hottest name and fastest growing model management have launched Few Next Face Africa 2018 #BeFew. A model search scouting for talents across Africa.Kenya is the next stop after their auditions in Ethiopia on July 24, which will be spearheaded by Kenya’s Mochez Models a casting and modeling agency, auditions will take place at the Fairmont The Norfolk, Nairobi on July 28. Thereafter the search will head to Lagos, Nigeria on August 2, where selected models will join other selected contestants from the three countries (Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria).
Models will be trained for five days at a boot camp leading up to the grand finale where the winner will be awarded Sh 200,000. Three years Modeling Contract each with Few Models and IMG Models Worldwide (Paris, Milan, London, New York, Australia).
The winner will also get to walk on the runway alongside IMG top models Ajak Deng, Lexi Boling, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Bella Hadid.
