About the concert
We have a large choir, the Cathedral organ, Nairobi Orchestra and glorious music to perform, from the movingly tranquil to rousing celebration!
The programme includes two wonderful pieces by Gabrieli on the four hundredth anniversary of his death. Soloists Julia Njoroge, Joyce Tannian, Jo Cadalhon and Zak Njoroge, the NMS choir, a choir of brass players led by Bill Rowe, organ and Nairobi Orchestra will perform his O Magnum Mysterium and In Ecclesiis.

We are also singing two items from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, four favourite choruses from Handel’sMessiah and a variety of really beautiful Christmas pieces by composers from Germany, Austria, Britain and America, as well as a Kikuyu choral setting of Silent Night, specially arranged by Njane Mugambi. Our carols for audience, choir, organ and orchestra will, for the first time, feature a boy soprano soloist.

The concert is conducted by Levi Wataka.
