Alliance Francaise Open Day, Feb 19 2011
An opportunity to get a taste of French language classes, participate in interactive games, attune to poetry in French, visit the multimedia library, watch the best of French cinema, enjoy skits in French and join in a hip hop/rap concert in French featuring Hopiho, a rap artist from Cameroon and the Alliance Française students.

Images de France, a week of French cinema
The Festival will offer to the Kenyan public very recent award-winning movies. The screenings will take place in the auditorium of Alliance Francaise, and for the first time in the Silverbird movie theatre at Westgate.
The screenings will take place from Monday to Friday at 10am for school groups and 18h for all age groups at Alliance Francaise, and 18h and 20h30 at Silverbird Cinema Westgate.
On Saturday at 11am at Alliance Francaise, and 16h and 20h30 at Silverbird Westgate. On Sunday at 16h at Silverbird Westgate.
Entrance is free.
The movies that will be screened are:
– Tournée de Mathieu Amalric, Best Director Award at the Cannes film Festival 2010, 6 César Award nominations 2011.
– London River by Rachid Bouchareb, Silver Bear for the best actor to Sotigui Kouyaté at the Berlin Film Festival 2009.
– L’Arnacoeur de Pascal Chaumeil, 5 César Award nominations 2011.
– De l’autre côté du lit by Pascale Pouzadoux.
– Je l’aimais, by Zabou Breitman.
– Welcome by Philippe Lioret, 10 César Award nominations.
– Le Refuge, by François Ozon, Special Prize of the Jury at the San Sebastian Festival 2010.
– Le petit Nicolas, by Laurent Tirard.
– Un Prophète, by Jacques Audiard, Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes film festival 2009, Prix Louis Delluc 2009, 9 Césars in 2010 for best film, best director, best screenplay, and best actor for Tahar Rahim.
– Princes et Princesses, by Michel Ocelot.
