Two Pokot women shall speak about their experiences after the film screening: Cheruto will give a firsthand account on FGM and the consequences of her health and life. Social worker Damaris will describe Pokot traditions, how Sentinelles aims to lift the plight of Pokot women and raise awareness within the community

In breath of consciousness II, Ermias Ekube presents a series of paintings and engravings that mainly focus on women and children.
Ermias Ekube powerful portraits are really striking. His topics, weather painted or engraved, are dynamic and filled with emotion.
About
Ermias Ekube is a respected artist born and brought up in Ethiopia with Eritrean Nationality. Ekube is a painter, engraver, sculptor and poet. He has studies four years at Addis Ababa college of Fine Arts and Design [DFA in 1990].
Since 1991 he participated in several group exhibitions and exhibited about 20 solo exhibitions in Eriteria, Ethiopia, Djiibuti, Tanzania, Swaziland, Norway, England, Denmark and Italia.
Ermias is now living in Nairobi and currently working on his art at the Kuona Trust.

Disputed Fields is one of a series of four films produced by InformAction which all focus on messages that have resonance across Kenya. It will open the ‘Kesho Ime Fika’ Festival.
This documentary is a ‘bottom up’ look at issues of land and tensions between the Kalennjin and Kikuyu communities in the region. It takes a sensitive approach, hearing the views of both communities as we had into the elections.
After the screening there will be a Live Performance by Eric Wainaina & the best band in Africa

The Think Twice DJ set of Jean-Chrisophe Couderc and Rémy Voet have been at the forefront of their trade for over 10 years. One is a musician, the other a graphic designer. Their common passion for music and discs has kept them together since 1991. They were the resident DJ pair at the popular Paris club ‘La Fabrique’ int the late 90s. They have participated in several festivals around Europe and have toured South America. In 2003, they created the music project ‘Think Twice’ characterized by their special mix of electronic and rock music with a touch of funk.
Think Twice DJ set first travelled to Africa in 2011 on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique festivities in Rwanda. They return to East Africa for concerts in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia, sponsored by the Regional Audiovisual Bureau of the Embassy of France.

Synopsis
The play is set in Kiambu County in the plush environs of Windsor, Falstaff makes his love and desires know not to one but two married women in identical letters. Upon comparison Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Page plot their revenge on Falstaff for being so bold and assuming. The revenge plan unveils itself with almost catastrophic but hilarious consequences. The strength of some relationships with doubts creeping and some grow ever so stronger as the inhabitants of this small town watch and are a part of the unfolding comical events that surround Falstaff amorous adventures.
The cast, we believe, represents the best of East African talent features the gigantic talent from Tanzania, Mrisho Mpoto as Falstaff as well as Ogutu Muraya, Neville Misati, Mourad Sadat, Eric Wanyama, Veronica Waceke, Sylvia Namussassi and Kitt Nyan’aya Kiarie.

In an office on the outskirts of Kampala, veteran activist David Kato labors to repeal Uganda’s homophobic laws and liberate his fellow lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender men and women, or “kuchus.” But Kato’s formidable task just became more difficult. A new “Anti-Homosexuality Bill” proposes the death penalty for HIV-positive gay men and prison for anyone who fails to turn in a known homosexual. Kato is one of the few who dare to publicly protest the country’s government and media. Working with a dedicated group of fellow activists, he fights for Kampala’s kuchus on Ugandan television, at the United Nations, and in the courts. Because, he insists, “if we keep on hiding, they will say we are not here.”

Jailed for running away from home to escape abuse, for allegations of adultery, and other “moral crimes,” the women of Afghanistan’s Badum Bagh prison band together to fight for their freedom. Love Crimes of Kabul follows three young prisoners as they go to trial, revealing the pressures and paradoxes women in Afghanistan face today, and the dangerous consequences of refusing to fit into society’s norms. Their defiant actions come to be seen as threats to the very fabric of society, and their acts of self-determination as illegal. Will life outside prison enable these women to experience the freedom they desire?
Filmmaker Tanaz Eshaghian brings us into the lives of these “outsiders,” and we watch as teenage romantics learn to become steely-eyed negotiators in an effort to secure their future, brokering their freedom with courage, charm, and skill.
