Venue: Alliance Française
Time: 6.30 pm

About the film
Nairobi is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. A large part of the city’s population lives in informal settlements like Lungalunga, Mathare and Kibera.

Kuruka Maisha foundation, a performing arts academy, has worked with street families in Nairobi for over eight years, learning a lot about the phenomenon of urban youth at risk in that process. Some of them share their stories in this film. Portrayed characters and crew share the same social background. Through this film, the producers share their experience, triumphs and challenges.

Through the authentic dreams, struggles and aspirations of youth, Mwelu and Kuruka Maisha show us a dynamic Kenya, way beyond the assumptions and cynicism we see too often. Street children as any of us dare to dream.
