About
The 2016 edition of the Slum Film Festival, taking place from 22nd to 26th August, focuses on the various achievements that have been made in the past decade through the Millennium Development Goals, and aims to promote citizen engagement with regards to the newly formulated Sustainable Development Goals.

For 5 days, the communities in Mathare, Kibera, Kawangware and Mukuru will be treated to a repertoire of films from 70 countries around the world – some of which were nominated in the festival and others that are pre-selected for screening by the 2016 panel of judges. The community screenings will focus on short stories representing and exploring slum realities.

Community Festival: Dunda Dago, Aug. 11 2012 @ Dagoretti CDF Grounds-Kawangware

The artists who will be featured include Juliani, Q-Ta-Si, Kendi, DSI Dancers, Godsiders Entertainers, Pillars of Kireba, Kennet B, African Sakata, First Born, Mikke, Baba Garston, Angel MC, Bonchez and Tarumbeta African.

About
Dunda Mtaani is a community festival that takes place in various communities within Nairobi. The festival has been running for five years now and has been staged in Korogocho, Kibera, Huruma, Kawangware, Buruburu, Riruta and California.

The aim of this event is to give local youth groups the opportunity to show-case their artistic talents through music, dance and acrobatics, in conjunction with some professional artists.
