Unseen Nairobi is popping up again to screen the multi award winning FREE SOLO.
“FREE SOLO is less about climbing than it is about living. An extraordinary gift to everyone who believes that the limit of human achievement is far from being reached.” THE NEW YORK TIMES
Please join us at the appropriate setting, Alpha Fit gym on Ngong Road to experience this epic feature this September, Saturday 14th. The doors open from 6 pm for sundowners and pizza, and the screening starts at 8pm.
From award-winning documentary filmmaker E. Chai Vasarhelyi (“MERU”) and world-renowned photographer and mountaineer Jimmy Chin comes National Geographic Documentary Film’s FREE SOLO, a stunning, intimate and unflinching portrait of the free soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to achieve his lifelong dream: climbing the face of the world’s most famous rock … the 3,000ft El Capitan in Yosemite National Park … without a rope.

About
Co-founded by film director Mbithi Masya and producer Sheba Hirst, The NBO Film Fest wants to revitalise cinema-going culture in Nairobi as a critical means of contributing to the growth of a healthy film industry in Kenya. The festival began to do that in the last three years by presenting exceptional films from around the world that are rarely presented in Nairobi’s mainstream cinema and showing the best made Kenyan films in a lively festival format.Lusala, a film directed by Mugambi Nthiga, produced by One Fine Day Films and Ginger Ink Films will make its world premiere at the festival. This will be continuing a tradition that started in the 2017 premiere of Kati Kati by Mbithi Masya and was followed by the 2018 premiere Supa Modo by Likarion Wainaina.
