Type Faces

Exhibition: Typefaces & Heroes by Brian Omolo, Aug. 2 – 23 @ Que pasa Bar & Bistro

Type Faces
Typeface & heroes is an art exhibition of Brian Omolo’s latest works

Opening: August 2, 2013
Venue: the Que pasa Bar & Bistro
Time: 6 pm

Exhibition Runs until August 23, 2013

The typeface artworks are little wisdoms and experiences that the artist has picked up along his journey as a designer, boiled down into a series of artworks that people can enjoy.

The hero artworks are an attempt to show a cross cultural upbringing. Growing up we all loved heroes like superman and batman but also loved hearing about the mighty animals of the wild like lions, tigers and gorillas so the idea of mixing them together to see awesomeness happen was quite fascinating.

In addition, he has worked with Richard Leakey, Ian Douglas Hamilton, the Honourable Member of Parliament George Saitoti, Paul Allen and Donna Karan on community design orientation projects and pure wildlife protection projects.

T Ogonga One at Que
Opening December 11, 2012 at 6 pm

Edition One is Ogonga Thom’s first prints only exhibition in four years and is a result of 6 months experiments of 100% fully handmade limited edition wood cut prints.

In the selection of prints on show, Ogonga is “exploring conventional wood cut print making with emphasis on the technical process while playfully working on studies of the female form and at times creating prints inspired by painting processes” to create ‘prints that look like paintings.’

Ogonga has exhibited widely and featured in numerous public projects both locally & abroad and was awarded the winner of 2nd Place, Best in Painting during the Elsyee Treaty Juried Competition & Exhibition in 2006.
