Against a background of political, social and economic tensions ahead of a momentous general election set for 2022. What is the lived experience of Nairobi’s artists during this period? Can you hear it in the music?

It is the first in a proposed series of special features focusing on selected cities around the world dubbed “Norient Cities.” The feature comprises three podcasts, a set of essays, commissioned street photography, a short video, sound art, original music and a mixtape.

“SIMBA”: A musical production based on ‘The Lion King’ composed of a fusion of dance, drama, visual effects, exquisite sets and musical elements.

It has been previously staged in July 2015. Due to the overwhelming response, it is back by public demand.

Call for Application: Premier Incubation Program for Craft Makers & Designers, Until Nov. 30 2012


Craft Afrika invites applications to Kenya’s premier incubation program for craft makers and designers.

The 6 month Craft Enterprise Incubation Program (CEIP), starts January 2013 and will target an initial group of 15 craftpreneurs, who will undergo intensive one-on-one business training, networking and mentoring forums, market access services and access to INTEREST FREE LOANS that participants can apply for at any point during the training program.

The course will be undertaken at our offices at The GrowthHub, Cape Office Park, Ring Road, Kilimani.
