Dance performance ‘TRIP en masse Kenya’ at the Sarakasi Dome (Nairobi) 16-17 January and Fisherman’s camp (Naivasha) on 19 January.
The performance ‘TRIP en masse Kenya’ is created to remember the Kenya post-election crisis of 2007/2008 and promote peace.
The contemporary dance performance ‘TRIP en masse’ explores human emotions in group behavior  After winning an award for best dance performance in the Netherlands, the choreographers of ‘TRIP en masse’ have come to Kenya to work with nine Kenyan dancers in Nairobi to adapt ‘TRIP en masse’ and incorporate elements of the Kenya post-election crisis, resulting in a non-political dance show called ‘TRIP en mass Kenya’.

“Our plea to you is to help collect any clothes, toys and dried food stuff and come bring them along to the Mimi Na Wewe (Me and You) event going down this Saturday 22nd December 2012 at Sarakasi Dome from 2.00pm – 7.00pm. There will be performances by SARABI, VALENTINE ZIKI, STEVE NYABWA, and many others.
Entry is your donation (clothes, dried food, kids books, toys that you are able to give away) If you can not make it and you want to participate please drop off your donations at the Sarakasi Dome between today and 22nd December.
The proceeds will go to Mama Teresa Children’s Home.”

On 8th Of December 2012 The Kenya Copyright Board, Maisha Yetu (Kenya) and PAYT  & Dextraw Studio (South Africa) will organize a training for artists in the audio visual category at the Sarakasi Dome. The event kicks off from 11am to 2pm. Kenya’s renown Hiphop artist Mwafrika will be the main artist presenting at the Haki za msanii workshop. Mwafrika will be presenting on his experience as a TV producer exhibiting productions never seen on TV before. Mwafrika currently a presenter on the TV show Raiyaa will engage the audience on TV production and why he uses comedy to pass social messages.

If you are an artist or art lover and would like to interact with peers from East and Southern Africa this is a forum where you could build your networks and learn more about Intellectual propertly laws. You will also engage with legal representatives from the Kenya Copyright Board.

Mzungu Kichaa live in Nairobi, Nov. 2 2012 @ Sarakasi Dome

Although Mzungu Kichaa has performed in Nairobi before, this will be his first performance in the city with his full Tanzanian band Bongo Beat! The group has just returned from a tour in Europe where they performed 15 concerts.

Mzungu Kichaa means ‘the crazy white man’. A name given to him by Tanzanian artist Juma Nature after he met him for a collaboration at the Bongo Records studio in Dar es Salaam. The choice of the name “Mzungu”, which is a derogatory word for “a foreigner”, is extremely ironic to say the least: Mzungu Kichaa is all but “foreign”. Mzungu Kichaa speaks fluent Kiswahili and wrote all his songs for his first album TUKO PAMOJA in the language. The album was nominated Best World Album at the Danish Music Awards, while his music video Jitolee received airplay across Africa. The release also saw him win Best Upcoming Artist at the African Achievement Awards held in Copenhagen.

Kichaa’s interest for African music started at the early age of six, when his family moved to rural Zambia. He would soon learn to play traditional Tonga drums with his friends at weddings. His enthusiasm for learning local music traditions gradually transformed his life story. His music, and his multicultural identity has helped unite cultures and people across race and social status.

Prepare yourself for an intense musical experience and a unique blend of hip hop, reggae and Congolese guitar, when Mzungu Kichaa and Bongo Beat take the stage at Sarakasi Dome on 2nd November from 7pm. During the concert, Mzungu Kichaa will release his 2nd collaboration since “Jitolee” featuring Tanzanian artist Professor Jay. The new collaboration will feature one of his favourite Kenyan artists.

Tools and physical portfolios such as Electronic Press Kits (which includes, audio, video, pictures, press material and artist Biography) will be highlighted and developed. Practical skills will be developed, within Event Management, including fundraising, proposal writing, budgeting, marketing, negotiation and contractual agreements.
