Straight Line Connection is a rock / metal band based in Kenya. Formed around 2017, the band comprises of Gun (Vocals, Guitar), Reuben (Bass, Guitar) and Param (Percussion). The band recently launched its debut album ‘Spaceless’ in Nairobi.

Heavy and the Beast, the all Kenyan rock music website describe the album as a beautifully crafted masterpiece.

‘From start to finish Straight Line Connection manage to blend the ingredients of rhythmic drumming, guttural as well as clean vocals, and both slow and speed-oriented guitars, this is one of the rock / metal albums of all time, simply a must own for any rock/metal fan.’

FLEE is a cultural engineering platform dedicated to the documentation and enhancement of hybrid cultures. It promotes emerging forms of East-African music where traditional music encounters avant-gardist electronic music.

Following a two-week music residency, this concert will feature collaborations between the French techno producer Tite, the Kenyan producer Joseph Kamaru, aka KMRU, known for creating emotive ambient music at the intersection of sonic landscapes, electronica and techno, the Italian electronic music composer, Pier Alfeo and the Flee founders.

Yunasi, the 2004 Kora Award Nominees and the 2007 winners of the BBC Next Big Thing return to the Alliance Française with their signature sytle ‘Sesube’, a combination of Sega, Isikuti and Benga.

Yunais is made up of Tobias Imani (guitar, voice), Erick Odhiambo (calabas, voice), Ngalah Oreyo (nyatiti, voice) and Simon Maranga (percussions, voice). The band will be accompanied by bass, drums and keyboard.

The band will surprise the audiences with flavours from their fourth album, Sesube Sound System that they are currently working on.

Blues and reggae music with the Kenyan singer-songwriter, Yubu, backed by his band ‘The Downhome Blues Gang’. Citing his influences as Bob Marley, James Brown and Hugh Masekela, Yubu’s music has not only been shaped by Kenyan and African sounds but also those of the gritty streetes and neighbouroods of Memphis, Tennessee, where he lived for sometime.

From the strum of his guitar, the conviction of his vocals, the catchy nostalgic melodies to thought provoking lyrics, get ready for some hip-shaking, finger snapping and head nodding with Yubu.
