Kombo & The Afro Simba Band Live @ Sippers
Kombo and Afrosimba Band and Sippers have been friends for many years, so we are proud to bring them back for you to enjoy a lively fun show. Afrosimba’s Mijikenda beats make them one of the only East African coastal bands that fit in the genre of Afrofusion.
They are a hot upcoming group combining contemporary sounds with their traditional roots and joining an exciting trend of artists helping to create a long lost identity of Kenyan music much like successful artists from Mali, Senegal and South Africa.
Afrosimba’s distinct Kenyan sound resonates with people from all over the country and takes them back to the good old days when Kenyan musicians were heard in ever house and gathering. They are generating Kenyan pride like recent performers from Uganda and Tanzania have done for their countries. Kombo has created a concept growing in popularity through live concerts at all of the regions important clubs, concert halls and music festivals.
They were a top band at this year’s first Mogadishu Music Festival for peace organized by the United Nations and high level international governments to bring live music to a city that hasn’t experienced since before their civil war more than twenty years ago. Not copying hip-hop or rap music, their original sound will surely knock your socks off!
