Debut Concert for AfroSoulful Songbirds
On the 4th of June, all roads lead to the Michael Joseph Centre, for Kasha featuring Serro and Kalahi. A long time coming, this concert will act as a debut of their existing repertoire. Both Serro and Kalahi are soulful songbirds, with memorable lyrics and magnificent melodies. An alumnus of Sauti Academy, Kalahi’s music is a mélange of genres like rhythm & blues, reggae and afro-soul.. Her music is very contemplative and easy to sing along to. Her debut release Kitunguu, decries the constant state of despondency that loving a hurtful being leaves one in. She, through catchy lyrics and intricate harmonies advises her fans to flee from lovers who would rather draw tears from your soul that fan the flames of love.
Serro has performed at a number or events, honing her skills each time and is well on her way to becoming a consummate performer. Her stage presence has been described as magical, belting melodies that span the emotional spectrum. Watch out for her soon to be released debut jam Rongai, where she bemoans the loss of a love she held dear due to infidelity.Coincidentally, both Kalahi and Serro are working with the multi-faceted producer Polycarp, who happens to be a member of Sauti Sol. We cannot wait to see what awesomeness, this synergy gives rise to.
Kasha will be a celebration of love and life. Bring your zing, fun, friends and dancing shoes!
Featured artistes include Swigga, Ayrosh, Ministry of Mouth and Afisa who are all very soulful musicians. In short, you are in for a musical treat.
