Award winning Kenyan Actresses Brenda Wairimu (Mali, Disconnect) and Makmzee Mwatela (Mali – NTV), stars in SARAFINA musical directed by Stuart Nash who is an artistic director at the Kenya National Theatre. The musical is set to take place in July 12th- 15th July and 20th – 22nd July.

The show is based on the original film written in 1992 which tells the story of a young black student struggling to fight apartheid in South Africa. The film is centered on students involved in the Soweto riots, opposing the use of Afrikaans as the language of instruction in schools.

Other co- stars are Patrick Oketch (Mother-In-Law), Hellen Mtawali (Tusker Project Fame) and Music star, Gilad.

Urinetown: The Musical is a satirical black comedy that premiered in 2001, with music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and book by Kotis. It satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics.

Performed by 6-9 year olds from School of the Nations.
