About
This is a rare opportunity to view & buy rugs from my personal collection of over 400 old and antique hand-woven oriental pieces. They have been individually sourced from all over the world, including Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, The Caucasus and Turkmenistan. Many are tribal, while others are more sophisticated ‘city’ works. This is the largest and best collection of such rugs in the country, and because of their number they can only be displayed all together every few months. They will be laid out in BagFace’s extensive grounds. Drinks and snacks will be offered (free of charge) as viewing so many pieces can be aesthetically overwhelming! All the rugs are of course for sale, and can be previewed on www.bagface.co.uk. There you will also see details and prices.I am always searching for interesting pieces but beautiful old rugs are becoming ever-harder to find at reasonable prices. The supply is extremely finite, and the growing demand will inevitably lead to future price rises: such antique pieces make fantastic and life-enriching investments, unlike the modern, somewhat characterless pieces that are widely available in many malls and shops.
This makes a fun and instructive day out, and one that will hopefully lead to your acquiring a piece of woven history.
