MAGEUZI THEATRE presents: Kaggia the Play, a story about Kenya’s towering revolutionary Bildad Kaggia.

Kwani? Sunday Salon will feature readings and conversations with 2014 Etisalat Prize for Literature winner, Songeziwe Mahlangu and celebrated Kenyan writer, Henry Ole Kulet.
There will be poetry performances, live music by Sage and readings from the new Chimurenga by Caine Prize winner Yvonne Owour, historian Ngala Chome and Kwani Trust Managing Editor Billy Kahora.
The visiting South African author is the second winner of the Etisalat Prize for Literature, the first ever pan-African prize celebrating first time writers of published fiction books.
Mr. Ole Kulet’s novel Vanishing Herds ( Longhorn Publishers) won the 2013 Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature. He has published several books and has over 30 years experience writing about contemporary Maa culture.
Chimurenga is a project-based mutable object, a print magazine, a workspace, and platform for editorial and curatorial activities. Started in 2011, The Chronic is a pan African quarterly gazette whose new edition focuses on new geographies, and is published in collaboration with Kwani Trust.
“One of the questions is this: if you try to map the psycho-techno-cultural corridors and ports through which this idea of better life (also known as “Africa Rising”) circulates, what do you see? We came up with this multi-breasted feminine. And more – war machines, secret countries, trade routes, water maps etc.” – The Chronic.
