Film Premiere: The Two Sudan’s, Nov. 28 2013 @ Goethe-Institut

the two sudans
Date: 28th November 2013
Venue: Goethe-Institut Auditorium
Time: 6.30 pm
Entry: Admission free

On 9th July 2011 the largest African nation was split into two: Sudan and South Sudan. Preceding that date, a group of young filmmakers from Sudan and Germany felt the need to witness the impact of this unique, historical moment with their cameras. Driven by the interest to understand how these events are affecting the lives of the people in North and South, the Sudanese directors started to follow their protagonists – sometimes friends or family members – asking questions about their lives, hopes and dreams. What will change in your future life? What does home mean to you? How can you reach your personal goals? How do you define your identity?

With the support of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and others, an on-going web-documentary was created, embarking on a visually and emotionally capturing journey into Sudan and South Sudan. From a place with virtually no film infrastructure, young film makers are telling the stories of those whose voices are never heard. In cooperation with Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung.

KENYA NIGHTS 4TH ANNIVERSARY

A year ago Kenya Nights had their first ever event at the Tree House Club in Nairobi’s party district; Westlands. It was on that night that this dedicated group of like-minded individuals came together to put on arguably the best party of November 2012. A great line-up of local underground DJs and the surprise cherry on the cake; Klartraum’s Nadja Lind. The night made history.

The years are now flying by, and Kenya Nights is now firmly embedded in Kenya’s nightlife culture. With an impressive array of events under their wings, the brother and sister team of Rizwan and Sadia have made serious waves in the entertainment industry. Now comes the time to celebrate the fourth year of kick-ass events, so please join us to raise a toast to the best thing in town this November, here’s presenting… THE KENYA NIGHTS 4TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY!

The Kenya Nights Crew will be bringing the noise with some very talented acts on this auspicious occasion. The lethal sounds of Just A Band’s BLINKY BILL, the flying Frenchman JEAN MARIE, ERIK, and Techno master MAX MELESI. There will be an extra special guest from the USA, the one and only JASON BOVA. The San Francisco native will have to be the highlight of the night, with his top notch groovy ghetto funk tracks. It all goes down at the Tree House Club, the place where it all began. Mark your calendars and cancel any other plans as 29th November is set to rock your box!

Synopsis

Doctor professes his love for one woman forcing other women to use unorthodox methods to win his love resulting in hilarious situations, complicated by mistaken identities. An evening of hysterical comedy! While FCA plays are very entertaining, they are also very educative and help prepare against the many challenges in life. In particular life issues such as relationships are mirrored on stage in a subtle and humorous rendition. The play “TEMPTATIONS” is an insight into societal problems of profound cultural and socioeconomic ramifications. Issues are cleverly tackled without being preachy.
