Yes – you read well: today we give away not just one ticket for Blankets & Wine, but *two*. One for yourself, and one for whoever you want: your loved one, your best friend, you name it!

We are very excited about Anto’s concert on Sunday. We remember him playing at the first Kwani? Open Mic events back in 2006, and he’s come a long way! So, here is what you need to do to win: share with us what’s your favourite Anto song, and why you love him. Maybe tell us about a gig of his you’ve attended, or any other detail showing why we should give *you* the two tickets we have today. Wamathai Spoken Word March, a poetry, music and photography showcase, is on Saturday 10th March 2012 at The Michael Joseph Centre, Safaricom House on Waiyaki Way.

The event will be hosted by Sam Buggz and Wanjeri Gakuru.

There will be Poetry Performances by: Wanjiku Mwaurah, Mwende Ngao, Mike Kwambo, Kuni Mbichi, Kennet B, Nuru Bahati, Tear Drops, Kaffy Mwangi, Gathoni, Le Cleric, Asali, Sentimental Floetry [Namatsi Lukoye, Carol Njenga & Vivian Wambui], Ben Tena, KayKay, Amos,  Luki and many more.

Music by: Sounds Like A Plan [SLAP] and Kevin Mbulaa

The event will feature a photo exhibition by photographer Sami Khan [Check out his work here].

At the invitation of AMREF, Africa’s own and oldest health organization, singer/songwriter, Saba, will present her album Life Changanyisha in support of AMREF’s Stand Up for African Mothers Campaign. Saba will be translating the stories of hundreds of women, children and men into music and lyrics, sharing in their humanity, experiences and dreams.
The singer will be accompanied by Cheikh Fall (kora-djembé musician from Senegal) and Tate Nsongan (guitarist from Cameroun).

This year’s activities will also include the performance of Vagina Monologues and a visual/textual/multimedia exhibition on the concept of Being Wanjiku.
