Intriguing glimpses into a cupboard full of family skeletons, together with detective work, combine in this unusual suspense play, to keep everyone guessing until the very last page. A man, still protesting his innocence, returns home from prison, after serving fifteen years for allegedly murdering his mother. Who did kill Mother? It takes an apparent suicide and a good deal of amateur sleuthing before the truth is revealed and the lady can be taken away…

As a way to create a platform for dialogue and to get response on the ongoing exhibition, this activity will bring together the curator and the participating artists one last time before the exhibition is uninstalled on the 8th May 2011.
The artists – Omosh Kindeh, Dennis Muraguri, Cyrus Kabiru, Anthony Wanjau, Kepha Mosoti, Meshack Oiro, David Mwaniki, Michael Mbai & Gakunju Kaigwa shall be present to discuss their practice – work, challenges & frustrations in a bid to find out why sculpting has lost its prominence and answer questions asked by the audience which will include artists, students, writers or just the general public.
This will be a platform to articulate the work and assess the exhibition by getting input from the audience.

Nathan Collett’s new feature film Togetherness Supreme offers a bright, young, film school-hip view into Kenya’s dark political and social struggles. Funded by Collett’s Hot Sun Foundation, the film showcases locals behind and in front of the camera and is based on a true story of the violent aftermath of Kenya’s 2007 elections in Africa’s largest slum, Kibera.
Last October, at the Vancouver International Film Festival, Togetherness Supreme was described as “Africa’s slum dog without the millionaires.” Surely there are many comparisons to Danny Boyle’s multi-Oscar, multi-award-winning 2008 Slumdog Millionaire. A coming of age story in Kibera, where over half a million slum dwellers struggle to carve out a life while occupying just 6% of the land, Togetherness Supreme follows the lives of three characters from different tribes.

The play takes us to the back-areas where hotel guests never go! The back-stabbing, the desperate yearning to get ‘hooked up’ to a tourist…add to this a Manager whose desperation is more frantic than his staff!
This ridiculously hilarious piece is directed by George Mungai and performed by a cast of five: Andrew Muthure [last seen in Lucky People] as the cunning, crafty and suave Ringo, Kevin Amwoma [last on stage as Mercutio in Romeo] as Joe, Brian Alufwani [Benvolio] as green, inexperienced, naïve Cyril, Margaret Karanja as Asha and Kevin Nzevela as O’keefe.

Murder Mystery Night at the Lord Erroll on Saturday May 7, 2011 will help raise money for the Patient Welfare Programme, the first project in Africa which raises money for people who cannot afford specialized care. The Phoenix Players will perform the murder mystery and the Limericks Band will provide entertainment through the evening. There will also be a raffle with wonderful prizes to be won.
