Amani lazima is a monthly movement that takes place in the slums courtesy of Sarakasi Trust and the Norwegian Embassy. The movement kicked off last year in December at St.John’s grounds in Korogocho while the 2nd one was held at Depot Grounds in Mathare in January.
The main objec¬tive for this movement in all the major ‘hoods’ in Kenya is to make a positive change contribute to awareness on issues of peace, reconciliation and anti-violence, to create an alliance and feeling of belonging amongst the slum youth and above all to raise awareness about peaceful co-existence.

My Moving Home, the longest running show in Kenya since last year will have a live recording at Italian Institute of Culture.
The film will be shot by two of Kenya’s top film makers: Wanuri Kahiu (Pumzi, From a Whisper) and Marius Van Graan (Changes, Saints, Brothers)
Venue: Italian Institut of Culture, Westlands

Musical Open Mic Night is an event where musicians come together to share tunes, skills and just jam. The idea is to keep it as relaxed and informal as possible, but if turns out we have throngs of performers, then time on the mic will be rationed.
One acoustic and one electric guitar will be provided, along with two amplifiers. Hopefully a small mic and PA will be available as well. Feel free to bring your own instruments also (bongos, vibraphone, kazoo).
Bring an instrument or just yourself. Perform or simply enjoy. The more the merrier!
