There will be lots of items at a Silent Auction to bid. Such as; a night for two at the Mara, items from Sandstorm and Kiko Romeo. Proceeds go to fund the Alternatives to Violence Project.

Fair: Soko Soko: Jun. 4/5 2011 @ New Muthaiga Shopping Mall

This is an annual charity craft fair with over 70 stands this year. It has now found a new home at the New Muthaiga shopping mall on Thigiri Ridge Road.

Last year’s proceeds, of Ksh 1 million, made it possible for Soko Soko to supply 60 desks and chairs to the Vendramini Education Centre in Kahawa West. In addition it was possible to build a new classroom block, consisting of 4 classrooms which also doubles as a hall, at the Jambo Toto informal school in the Korongocho Slums.

Come find some of the best designers Kenya has to offer making bags, sandals home decor and art.

Charity: Gala Latina, May 14 2011 @ Hilton

The Spanish Speaking Association (website in Spanish: www.ssakenya.org) requests the pleasure of your company at the renown “Annual Charity Gala Latina” which will take place on 14th May at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi. The ticket price is KSHS 4,500 (Cash Bar) and it includes welcome cocktail, buffet dinner and a glass of wine, Latin Dance exhibition and grand prize raffle. Among the prizes we have flights to Europe and nights at hotels. Extra raffle tickets for many fabulous prizes will be sold throughout the evening. All proceeds go to charity.

Founded in Nairobi (1994), the Spanish Speaking Association (SSA) encompasses all members of Spanish speaking countries who are resident
in Kenya, and, who voluntarily offer their services to assist in projects of local development and in the promotion of the Hispanic
culture in this country.

It is financed by the yearly fees of the members, as well as the profits obtained through the various fundraising events during the
year, and, the generous donations granted by public companies and private people.

The SSA has granted eleven scholarships to students of secondary education, and, additionally collaborates in Orione Community Training
Center (Thika), for challenged children with special needs, Community Missionary San Pablo Apostle of Spain (Turkana-Kaikor) providing
support of various Centers of Nutrition, Health and Education for children from 2 to 7 years of age, Sisters Marianitas of Equator
(Turkana-Kaikor) dedicated to the promotion of  woman, care of the elder and agricultural development, Kariobangi, professional promotion
of woman in Kenya.

Charity/Theatre: A Murder Mystery Night, May 7 2011 @ The Lord Erroll (Runda)

Murder Mystery Night at the Lord Erroll on Saturday May 7, 2011 will help raise money for the Patient Welfare Programme, the first project in Africa which raises money for people who cannot afford specialized care. The Phoenix Players will perform the murder mystery and the Limericks Band will provide entertainment through the evening. There will also be a raffle with wonderful prizes to be won.

Autism Awareness Kenya Event, Apr 3 2011 @ Goan Institute / Pangani

On Friday and Saturday, April 1 &  2 there will be awareness stands at 11 shopping areas across the city where volunteers will be handing out flyers and will be able to answer questions.

It will all culminate in a community celebration on April 3 at the Goan Institute in Pangani (Juja Road) from 10-4 at a Free Fun Day. Kids, Parents, Friends and Family- all are welcome at the 2nd annual Family Fun Day.

Come and learn what autism is and find out what help is available. Meet parents and professionals while you browse the variety of stands. Many dedicated volunteers will be available to help with the kids. There will be a talk about autism and a parent forum.

Come and enjoy the entertainment for children and adults! Bouncing castle, trampoline, music, games and more. Bring a picnic or buy food from the food stall.
