Kofi Awoonor Memorial Lecture
Date: Sunday, September 20, 2015
Venue: Arboretum Park, Nairobi
Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
On Saturday 21st September 2013, one of Africa’s most celebrated poet and lead guest, Professor Kofi Awoonor, lost his life in the horrible Westgate Mall terrorist attack.
Two years on, his son, Afetsi Awoonor, who was with him at the time, pays glowing tribute to his father as a testament of great hope, healing and forgiveness.
Note:
Space is limited for the two lectures, and therefore entry to the lectures is by pre-registration only.A Day Ticket is KES 1000/- and will allow you entrance to the Lecture as well as ALL other events scheduled for the day.

Airtel Sondeka Festival 2015, Sept. 12-13 2015 @ the Arboretum Gardens

Airtel Sondeka Festival is the first arts and innovation Festival in East Africa and is run by Creatives Garage, a multi-disciplinary collective space for creatives to network, share ideas, collaborate, learn, gain market accessibility and push boundaries.
The opening night of the festival is September 11, 2015 at the Elephant, from 7 pm till late. Entry is KES 500
The Main Festival runs from the 12th till the 13th of September at the Arboretum.

Out Film Festival: Speak Out! Sept. 10-13 2015 @ Goethe-Institut Auditorium

The Gay Kenya Trust in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Kenya will be organising the fifth annual Out Film Festival to showcase LGBT-themed films from Africa and across the world. The screenings will be followed by discussions of the central themes and the challenges faced by the LGBT community in Kenya.
