African American artist Eric Salisbury Kenyan exhibition: ‘Pure art’m Mar 18 2012 @ Paa Ya Paa Arts Centre

Celebrated painter Eric Salisbury is making his Kenyan debut in an exhibition dubbed ‘Pure’. The special benefit art event/ reception featuring about 100 of Eric’s splendid art works will be held at the Paa ya Paa Arts Centre on Sunday, March the 18th starting 2pm.

Eric’s art is a celebration of life and living– vibrant, energetic, rich, moving, colorful, eclectic, spirited and sometimes whimsical but always inspirational. The exhibition is a ‘Pure’ inspiration from his passion for teaching children, as well as adults the joy of creating their own freedom of expression through art.

His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world. He’s also created posters and murals in Ghana, Uganda and at Seattle International Children’s Festival among others like the Rainier Valley Heritage, Sundiata Eastside Community Street Fair, and Jazz in the Park series –Seattle. He will also be creating a community mural for the 2012 Olympics in the UK.

Art work on display will also be available for sale at modest prices starting from at least $18.00 USD. 50% of all the proceeds will go into supporting kids from Nyumbani children’s home. Join us in putting a smile on the faces of orphaned children/ those affected by HIV.

The reception will also see Eric give a special talk/ lead a Q&A session themed after his slogan ‘Positive Art Does Wonders for the Heart’. Feel free to provide coverage.
