Join Wairimu Ng’aru, for Writings on My Wall, an evening of easy listening music, on Friday the 24th of August at the Michael Joseph Centre, Safaricom House, Waiyaki Way, from 7pm- 9pm. Charges for this evening of soulful music are 300kshs in advance and 400kshs at the venue.
Wairimu Ng’aru, will present some of her best works backed by a live band.

SYNOPSIS
A family of very humble abode loses their father. The life insurance money comes in and the widow seeks to put down a deposit for a house in a swanky neighborhood to fulfill her late husband’s wishes. Her son has business ideas; her daughter wants to go to college. They move into their new home- only to be confronted by the ugly reality that they do not belong there….
The event organisers have given Nairobi Now 10 tickets for kids 4-12 to give away for this event.
These tickets, otherwise priced at 500ksh per ticket, grant kids ages 4-12 get ALL DAY access to the Kids only area. In this area there will be jumping castles, trampolines, face painting, magic shows, a live Cinderella and Spiderman, etc.as well as creative play activities such as painting, drawing, toys, hula hoops, obstacles etc. Ticket also includes free ice cream and popcorn.

Adults and teens get in free at the event. We also have adult and teen activities that are pay are you play but there is no entry fee for adults and teens. It is up to them to choose what activities they want to participate in. There will also be free activities for toddlers age 0 to 3.

It promises to be a great way to celebrate Idd as Ramadhan ends. The organisers want to offer Happy Idd greetings to all in the community as the last week of Ramadhan approaches its end.

Calestous Juma is a Kenyan Professor of the Practice of International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School and Director of the Belfer Center’s Science, Technology, and Globalization Project.
He holds a Ph.D. in science & technology policy studies and has written widely on science, technology, and the environment.
Calestous is also a former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and Founding Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies.
Recently he was appointed to co-chair the new AU panel on science, technology, and innovation.

The woman’s vote exhibition draws attention to the role of the Kenyan woman in the electoral voting process, and her role in the political leadership of the country.

This is an interactive exhibition installed by Maryann Muthoni, an emerging contemporary female Kenyan artist based at Kuona Trust, Centre for visual Arts.
Muthoni comes from a generation of Kenyan contemporary artists who believe that Art is a tool that can be used to ‘Voice’ our societies plights.
Through her installation, Muthoni’s intention is to be a voice for Women in various communities whom have never had the opportunity to vote. She hopes to stir up conversation around this topic and to be heard by crucial members of society who can influence change.
