A new star is born, The Songwriter’s Lounge… A place where lyricism is brought to life in song.
Too often the art and skill of lyric writing and developing the written piece into a song has been under valued. The songwriters lounge has come to change all that and to provide an opportunity for musicians who are writers and non-musicians who are enthusiasts to come together and share beautiful moments in a small intimate setting ( 70 pax gig).

This first edition features Singer – Songwriter ANDREW WAMBUA born and raised in Nairobi Kenya. Wambua started his own band, Afrology, in 2008 and has since graced various stages such as Nairobi’s premier event Blankets & Wine, Thursday Night Live at Choices, Penya Nairobi Panda Sauti among others.

He released his first single “Nipe Pendo” mid last year (Get a free mp3 of the single here) and is currently half-way into the recording of his debut album Dreams Come True

The Kenya Conservatoire of Music cordially invites you to join us for our 70 Year Anniversary Launch Concert.

The concert which is proudly sponsored by the Austrian Embassy and CBA Bank, will be conducted by Maestro Vijay Upadhyaya – head of musical activities at Vienna University and founder of the India National Youth Orchestra – and will have a varied repertoire presented by The Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra, Students and Staff of the Conservatoire.

Also featuring in the program is The Nairobi Chamber Chorus conducted by Ken Wakia.
