The celebrated American hip hop artist Yassin Bey better known as Mos Def will be hosted by Nairobi Rapsody on May 28th 2015 at Ebony Lounge, Westlands, Nairobi – Kenya. This his first trip to East Africa.

The gates open at 9:00 p.m. – Music entertainment by DJs: G Money and Blinky Bill. Kenyan artists Bamboo and Rabbit will open for Yasiin Bey – who will grace the stage from around 11:00 p.m.

About Yassin Bey
As a solo artist under stage name Mos Def, Yassin Bey has released five critically acclaimed albums: Black on Both Sides in 1999, New Danger in 2004, True Magic in 2006 and The Ecstatic in 2009. Yassin has influenced several young musicians such as Lupe Fiasco, Jay Electronica, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Saigon just to name a few.

He is also a well accomplished actor who’s appeared in several top Hollywood films such Bamboozled, Monsters Ball and Brown Sugar.

The Afro fusion musician Juma Tutu has constantly been referred to by his fans as ‘The Kenyan Fela Kuti’. His ingenious blend of mijikenda traditional music and Afro jazz is unrivaled.

This prolific musician will be sharing his musical story and journey with you at an evening of Afro Jazz, the Swahili Edition that shall be taking place at the Alliance Française on the 26th of May from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

He shall be hosted by Ricky Nanjero and the Ricky Na Marafiki band who shall also serenade you with beautiful AfroJazz tracks from the album So Simple.
