Join young Kenyan writers – Ndiritu Wahome and Ciku Kimeria as they discuss their books, chat with members of the audience at a session titled “Conversation with African writers” at the Goethe Goethe-Institut Nairobi on Thursday March 19th 2015 from 6pm.

Ndiritu is a writer who first started writing at the age of thirteen. At 19, immediately after high school, he published a volume of poetry: ‘The Voice from a Young Man under the Burning African Sun.’
As a young writer, he is passionate about the art of writing, and other forms of creative arts. Ndiritu believes that you can become anything you want on earth, as long as you have the willpower, determination, and passion to train the mind. When he is neither reading nor writing, he is actively swimming and lazing on the beach gazing at the meandering blue waves of the ocean.
His latest work is a collection of short stories titled The sad artist and other fairy tales

Ciku lives and works in Kenya as a consultant focusing on international development issues at Dalberg Global Development Advisors. In her free time, she enjoys writing and traveling. She loves people, learning different languages, experiencing new cultures and various other art forms in addition to writing – singing, playing the guitar etc.
She is particularly fascinated by the universality of human emotions and enjoys reading books about people whose culture she knows little about. She hopes to use her work to reach more people with stories about Kenyan people that they can relate to – even if they do not know much about Kenya.
She holds a BSc in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She speaks English, Kiswahili and German, and is currently learning French. She is also a travel blogger – Thekenyanexplorer
