About
Rich Allela is a multiple award winning photographer and filmmaker who tells African stories that celebrate their culture and heritage.

Featuring 30 of his best works as he turns 30 years of age, the exhibition incorporates augmented reality, a first of its kind in Kenya which is aimed at taking the viewer on a journey behind the scenes to show them the creative process.

This particular collection is a celebration of the rich and the diverse culture of Kenya and its people, along with the stunning landscapes and all the unique things that make our country a special place to live in.

Straight Line Connection is a rock / metal band based in Kenya. Formed around 2017, the band comprises of Gun (Vocals, Guitar), Reuben (Bass, Guitar) and Param (Percussion). The band recently launched its debut album ‘Spaceless’ in Nairobi.

Heavy and the Beast, the all Kenyan rock music website describe the album as a beautifully crafted masterpiece.

‘From start to finish Straight Line Connection manage to blend the ingredients of rhythmic drumming, guttural as well as clean vocals, and both slow and speed-oriented guitars, this is one of the rock / metal albums of all time, simply a must own for any rock/metal fan.’

‘Slavery Routes’ is a documentary in four parts, co-directed by Daniel Cattier, Juan Gélas and Fanny Glissant, with historical advisor Catherine Coquery-Vidrovitch, Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris-Diderot.

This is the story of a world whose territories and own frontiers were built by the slave trade. A world where violence, subjugation and profit imposed their routes. The series traces the history of slave trade from the 5th to the 19th century, using various historical and scientific resources. The narrative is supported by scientific points of view with the filmmakers using compelling visuals to shed light on the different eras.

It also looks at the consequences of this history on contemporary societies

One Off proudly presents ‘Objects, Space, Movement and Facades’, an exhibition of artwork by the Brush Tu Art Collective Members. CONTEMPORARY ART DAY – FRAGMENTS OF NATURE – a Kenyan-Italian urban art collaboration
The project involves an artistic collaboration between the Italian Graffiti artist Mattia Campo Dall’Orto of the Macross Association of Monfalcone (Italy) and graffiti artists from Kenya, Bank Slave and Msale (Artistic names) in Nairobi (15.10.2019), and Jimmy Kimani in Malindi (16th and 17th October), for the creation of two or more works of art.

In addition, the photographer Mara Fella of the Macross Association, will document the project photographically.

The actual documentation will be translated into ibook format and in promotional material for use by the Press.
