Mini Garage is the ultimate Kids club based in Nairobi kenya. It is a kids club run by Creatives garage that offer parents a resource centre on kids creative works and gives kids a platform to nurture their talent, interact with other kids on creativity.

The kids club is starting on 3rd August 2013.It will be happening on all the Saturdays from 10:00am to 1:00 pm.
The venue is AEA Grounds which is located along valley road, the second gate on your left after NPC footbridge.

Introducing: Nairobi Children’s Orchestra – First Session

The Nairobi Children’s Orchestra is the main initiative of Music Education Services Kenya Limited, MES-K. MES-K will also run instrumental teacher education programmes, advanced ensemble workshops and support systems for teaching resources, academic discourse and general instrumental performance education. The mission of the Nairobi children’s orchestra is to develop a social, cultural, economic awareness and cohesion through music. Its core mandate is to develop high standards of instrument education and performance in Kenya by building strong musical foundations and instrument discipline from an early age. The orchestra, open to children between 5 and 13 Years old, will also consist of an Orchestra Director, Consultant Conductors and Instrument Tutors. It will run for 3 sessions in a year. Each session will have ten rehearsals, one per week for ten weeks. There will be a break after five consecutive weeks and a concert at the end of the term. Rehearsals will be every Saturday morning between 9 am and 12 noon. The tutorial rehearsals will be 90 minutes long; however, there will be a break before sectional rehearsals and workshops, these will last for one hour. The First session will run from 12th January 2013 to 23rd March 2013. The final Date will also constitute a public concert. The Costs per child is Ksh1500 per week, which amounts to Ksh 15000 per term. This amount takes into account all the costs incurred in the training of the children and preparation of the concert at the end of the term. Registration is ongoing.

We will have three (3) different sets between 2pm and 7pm, each with its own teaching focus:

Set 1: 2pm – 4pm: Warm up & Basics
Set 2: 4:00pm – 5:30pm: Learning new Rhythms
Set 3: 5:30pm – 7pm: Applying Rhythms & Jam Session

If you are serious about learning to drum, please come to all three! If you would simply like to relax, hangout, play the drums and spontaneously jam for a while, come whenever’s most convenient for you!

All workshops will be 1h30 minutes of class time followed by a 30 minutes of “guided practica”. Pricing per workshop per individual:

Drop-in Rate 1 workshop: 1400 Kes
Pre-pay 2 workshops: 2400 Kes
Pre-pay 3 workshops: 3200 Kes

Pre-payment may be made in person at beginning of first workshop in question or by M-Pesa to 0715 357 507. Note no refunds for unattended pre-paid workshops.
