Wildlife Direct through the Hands Off Our Elephants Campaign, will be hosting a live debate on the future of elephant conservation in Kenya. This will be held at the BrookHouse School on the 25th April 2015 from 4pm-6pm. It is a free event, all are welcome.

Wildlife Direct are hosting this debate about the future of elephants to create better public awareness, involvement, and action about poaching, trafficking and threats to elephants. The motivation is to address negative media about the ivory destruction’s taking place in Africa. This will also take the form of a twitter storm occurring simultaneously with the actual event. Therefore members of the public will join the conversation physically and on social media using the hashtag #Tweet4Elephant#Tweet4Elephants is a global social media event following the very successful earlier 1st edition on 13th January by the US Ambassador, Robert. F. Godec, that reached 36 million Twitter accounts and making over 126 million impressions on social media.
The live debate involves two teams one led by conservationists, the other by a respected journalist, Charles Onyango-Obbo. Members of our teams include activists, experts, economists, media and communities.
The event is pitched as a duel, and it is a friendly, fun, educational and entertaining debate.
