About 1956 – A Tale of Freedom
The Embassy of Hungary and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland present the puppet show ‘1956 – A Tale of Freedom’The performance commemorates the turbulent events of October 1956 in Eastern-Europe and marks the 60th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution.
The show is directed by the Polish actor-director Katarzyna Kuzmicz-Mészáros and features puppeteers from Hungary, Poland and Kenya who animate life-size puppets in this modern interpretation of 1956 revolution.
The project is part of the International Puppetry Festival (IPFEST) 2016 that takes place in Nairobi on 15-22 October 2016.
