The piano is able to communicate the subtlest universal truths by means of wood, metal and vibrating air. I just hope I will be there to enjoy the inner peace and tranquility it offers.

Wow! Those tickets would be heaven. A reprieve for one night from all the price-hiked, strike-filled and gloomy-weathered days of November. Some soothing music. I could almost hear it now…..
No matter how many times i watch The Pianist, when Szpilman plays the Moonlight Sonata, it gets me to tears…so appropriately dark. Would love to watch Janusz Olejnniczak do it again.
The piece Szpilman played at the climax scene in the movie “The Pianist” was Chopin’s “Ballade No.1”. It was not clear in the movie, though, the Moonlight Sonata was played by German soldiers (probably played by Olejniczak as well 🙂

Life lesson: The most creative pianist must drown out the crowd in order to create beauty.
SINCE TWO YEARS SLEEPLESS IN NAIROBI
Displaced polish girl starving to connect back with her roots and culture.
Away from Njama choma, kamikaze matatu and the muzungu stamp on my forehead, want to feel eternal piano jumping prejudice and reunite the poeples by the love of music.
I dont need two tickets, I can afford ten. Find me another polish to join me and I will fund myself for the event !!!

I luv the piano. It makes me lose my mind and makes me feel like i am in another world, wish you gave me ths ticket so tht i free myself frm ths cold at hme and enjoy the soothing sound frm the piano.
I absolutely love Janusz’s music. It has this *BAM* factor that erases my surroundings and soaks me in it. I’d really love to get those tickets cause I’d love to see Janusz in person and experience his world first hand. Also, because I’m cool. JUST LIKE THAT.
Have you ever just cleared forth form and ur last exam was a music exam and all u could think about is how you wish there was a piano playing in the background for you to just chill well ive listened to janusz olejniczak all my life and all the time before i did my maths exammm…. its what i call music that helps the mind work…. so thank you janusz olejniczak for any results ill get in maths…. and bless this country with your music:))))))))
Janusz is a very honourable man. I’ve listened to his performances and now that he is in Kenya,it would be a great honor to see him give a great performance alongside other upcoming great pianists. Janusz is a masterpiece.
Janusz Olejniczak has been my inspiration ever since I started playing the piano way back in 2001, to me he comes second to my list of role models the first being sergio mendes.
I missed a concert of his in amsterdam some time back and now that he is in kenya I shouldn’t miss it, I think this is my time.
Cannot wait to watch and listen to his music, and this time he will be live on stage.
Kindly make it happen, to me it will ba a dream realised.
Regards,
Achesa Caleb
i probably don’t deserve these tickets more than the others but i would be honoured to see janusz perform. glad to know he is doing something for charity.way to go.
All i can say is that the memory of Szpilman (from the movie ‘the pianist’), locked in his top floor apartment in poland, unable to play the piano because he would definitely get caught, was the most poignant sensation in the film. The grande pollonaise brillante, playing in his mind, as his hands and fingers swayed in the air. In his mind, it was real. In his mind, he was playing with the orchestra behind him. I want to have that feeling HE had, the feeling i know Janusz has when playing that piece. I want to be in that moment , and truthfully speaking, I’m not going to have that feeling without the free tickets because i am simply, purely, plainly, passionately, completely, whole-heartedly, a student.
Many challenges in different parts of the world, one universal language…..music. Let’s all use music to make this world a better place, and wherever we are, to always look for the silver lining, the light at the end of the tunnel.
First off, thanks Nairobi Now for this great chance..and reward;and for making sure that I have more than enough events to choose from every week of the year!I really would love to attend this concert of nothing but world class piano-playing and entertainment as I’m a great enthusiast of the piano, having aspired to be a professional player at one point! All I ask is a chance to experience a few unforgettable hours away from the city’s bustle and stresses of work and family, with a loved one as this one is, quite honestly,a little too pricey than most other events that I attend! Thanks and keep kicking the blues away for us!
1. I love the jazz flair.
2. I am an upcoming artist with the desire to mingle and interact with experienced artists and, God willing, find luck where it was least expected.
3. I am just into the city and trying had to catch up with the most catching events.
1. I tell everyone and their mother about Nairobi Now
2. If I won the tickets I would do more than just tell their mothers
3. I think this is a great promotion, whether I win or not.
4. Am in much need of a little musical intoxication
5. I love the Red Cross and if I won, I would feel guilty for not paying and make sure I brought lots of (paying) people with me.
Dear Nairobi Now Crew,
my deepest condolences for the hardest situation that came upon your shoulders.
So many great people, so many beautiful words.
Which to chose, which to award.
But please, have no fear! Here I come to the rescue!
My powers are here to serve you.
I will open my ears and swallow the beauty of the sound.
I will clear my eyes and feast them with the beauty of the art.
I will pleasure my soul with perfection and harmony of music.
And I will share my joy with the people around me.
And the touch of music will bring peace upon strangers I will meet on my road.
And there shell be no regrets once I get the tickets the the concert on Thursday.
(plus its gonna give me a lot of credit with my girlfriend)
Keep up the good work, Nairobi Now Crew. Cultural life starts here.
This ticket will be a gift for my Polish boyfriend, who is desperately missing Zubrowka vodka and potato pierogi; however, it seems like his Christmas dinner 2011 will be Ugali with Tusker, instead.
Moreover, he might be tired of his girlfriend’s amateur & imperfect Chopin piano playing, so why don’t you want to give a glamorous & authentic one night experience as an early Christmas gift for this poor guy who got Olejniczak’s CD as his one of the first CD??
Dziekuje!!
Naoko
And the winner is….. Conrad!!!
congratulations from the NN crew!
