A short film to be shot in Kenya later in the month. It’s part of an international collaboration with filmmakers from all over the world. The film will be cut together with footage from all over the world to make a feature film which will be submitted to festivals and distributed worldwide.
The film will be shot in two segments, almost same story, different endings. Both segments require different actors.
Segment 1:
…Characters:
BROWN: He is a middle aged Kenyan man, mustached, classic. He wears a brown ‘Kaunda suit’ and looks like he came straight out of the wardrobe of an eighties politician.
He is rather tall, waify and has a morose demeanor.
TRAIN STATION CLERK: A rather stern and immaculately groomed midget who has the personality of a historical dictator and a razor sharp sense of sarcastic wit. He wears a large cross around his neck, early 50s
Segment 2:
BROWN A thirty-something year old gay male going through a quarter life crisis of sorts. He dresses in drag, chain smoked and is experiencing a metaphorical crossroads in regard to his existence and his relationship with city life in Nairobi and the experiences he’s had within its confines. He’s a tortured but gentle soul. He’s got a lean build and terribly pretty features but talks with a baritone that rivals Barry White’s.
OLD HOMELESS LADY A seventy/eighty year old woman down on her luck in life. She’s been homeless for a while as is evident in her general appearance. She walks with a hunch accompanied by a walking stick, has a face that tells many a story and eyes that carry years of wisdom and kindness behind them. Her quiet demeanor makes her rather cute and endearing while also making her come off as borderline nuts.
**Would be best if you came dressed the part / carried a change of clothes for the parts described.
